William Young, MS, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Bill Young grew up on a farm on Southside River Road. His skill of breaking and training quarter horses helped finance his first degree in biology from New Mexico State University. Later, he attended the University of New Mexico School of medicine to become a Physician Assistant. Upon graduation in 2002, he began his career with Pinon Family Practice.

Bill has made it a point to stay active in the community, primarily focusing on the success of children and youth. He has participated on various boards such as Childhaven, Farmington School Board, church service, and mentoring programs. His wife Candace, an Elementary School Principal, also shares his passion for social justice for the young people of our community. They have two children. Their oldest, Dr. Curtis Young, is a physician at Pinon Family Practice. Their daughter, Dr. Marietta Rader, is in her 3rd year of an Internal Medicine residency. Mari will take over as Chief Resident for the upcoming year at Ole Miss School of Medicine.

When not at work, Bill enjoys biking, kayaking, mountain climbing, and gardening. Further, as a life time resident of San Juan County, Bill is committed to the people of this community and enjoys caring for them.
