William “Curtis” Young, part owner of Pinon Family Practice, grew up on a dirt road in Farmington, NM. His mother leads an elementary school, and his father serves as a P.A. at Pinon Family Practice. Both influenced his career choice. He graduated valedictorian from FHS, Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico, and stayed in Albuquerque for medical school, where he graduated again with honors in 2016. Seeking broad spectrum, rural focused training, he moved to South Dakota for residency, treating the ailments of farmers, refugees, and the homeless. While waiting for his wife to finish her Pediatrics training, he completed a rural fellowship after graduating residency to train in endoscopy and other skills for small town practice. After the completion of his training, he joined Pinon Family Practice in September 2021.

He is eager to serve the community that helped raise him, alongside his wife, Shawna. When not working, you might find the pair of them kayaking, running in the wash, or backpacking Southern Colorado with their daughter and yellow Labrador.
